From late in 2012 until 2015, Sisneros seved as an assistant coach for the UNC Womens, taking over in December 2012 after Cindy Parlow Cone took over the head coaching position for the Portland Thorns of the National Women’s Soccer League. Sisneros transitioned into a new role with the vaunted Carolina program in 2015 when Damon Nahas came on the staff full time. A skilled and veteran marketer of soccer, Sisneros played a key role in helping the Tar Heels achieve the 2012 national championship in women’s soccer. He directed match analysis operations, which he totally revamped for the 2012 team from scratch. He was heavily involved in the team’s possession oriented platform and its progression of team player development. A native of Tacoma, Wash., Sisneros has been coaching soccer on multiple levels for the past two decades. His coaching expertise comes on the youth level primarily, including eight years for high school teams. He coached teams to WIAA Washington state high school championships as well as youth state and regional titles. He won his first state title as a coach with Charles Wright Academy at age 21 under the direction of his coaching mentor and Canadian Soccer Hall of Famer Tony Chursky. Sisneros played college soccer for the University of Puget Sound in Washington State where he studied sociology. His team there won two Northwest Conference titles in his three seasons as a player with his college career ending in 2005. He played on a UPS squad which set the school record for wins in a season with 20 and achieved the program’s best regional (#1) and national (#4) rankings. After leaving Puget Sound he began his coaching career while also playing for the Washington State U23 ODP Team, PASL Indoor Soccer Tacoma Stars and South Sound FC. He was a standout youth and high school player, being named Washington state first-team as well as copping all-area, all-region and all-state honors. As a player he won state, regional and national tournament championship with F.C. United (now Washington Premier FC). Sisneros works on a national staff of collegiate coaches with Exact Sports and coaches thousands of youth and high school players every year. He is a part of the NCGSC staff.
